Michael Lischin Resume:

A 1976 graduate of New York University Law School, he is an attorney admitted to practice law in the State of New York and previously in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Michael spent the early years of his legal career working for Pattison, Herzog, Sampson and Nichols in Albany, New York, primarily practicing in the areas of banking and asset based lending for Union National Bank and Home Savings Bank.

In 1978 he joined Fasig-Tipton Company, which was the second largest thoroughbred horse auction company in the world with headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky and Elmont, New York.  In 1982 he was named President of Fasig-Tipton's financial services division which provided financial services to farm owners and stallion syndicates.

Upon leaving Fasig-Tipton in 1988, Michael concentrated on representing horse farm owners, syndicate managers and breeders in the thoroughbred industry and he served as an officer of several thoroughbred industry service companies including two finance companies that provided in excess of $250 million of financing to the industry for the purchase of horses and syndicated stallion shares.

In 1990 Michael became a shareholder and member of the Board of Directors of Ag Services of America, Inc. Ag Services grew to over $350 million in annual revenues generated by providing crop input financing to corn and soybean farmers.  It became a listed public company on the New York Stock Exchange.  Michael continued to serve as a Director and assisted in a negotiation with Rabobank Group, a global leader in food and agri-financing, which then was the largest agricultural lender in the world.  Michael retired from Ag Services upon the successful sale of the company to Rabobank Group.

In 1997 he was one of the Founders and Directors of First Security Bank in Lexington, Kentucky and a Founding Shareholder of Citizens Commerce Bank in Versailles, Kentucky.

While living in Midway, Kentucky he was also a licensed Property and Casualty insurance agent specializing in thoroughbred horse mortality coverage.  Michael is currently a consultant to Hammertown Insurance Agency, a New York general lines Agent/Broker primarily insuring thoroughbred mares, racehorses, stallions and farms.

In 1998 Michael moved to New York and purchased Dutchess Views Farm in Pine Plains, New York.  The farm is a commercial boarding and breeding farm.  Dutchess Views Farm became one of the most successful farms in New York, standing fourteen stallions and boarding more than 250 horses. In 2019, Dutchess Views Farm became a partner in Irish Hill & Dutchess Views Stallions, which in 2024 stood seven stallions in addition to managing and boarding client horses and it's own horses.

Michael has been quoted with attribution on the topic of thoroughbred finance in a variety of publications including Newsweek, Vanity Fair, The Blood-Horse, The Florida Horse, The Canadian Horse and The Thoroughbred Record.
